“Tailing a Ghost”

USS Honolulu, a Los Angeles class submarine, was commissioned on July 6th 1985.
The painting depicts a hypothetical scenario at the edge of the Arctic ice pack. The Honolulu
has been “lying doggo” below the rim of an Arctic canyon. Her sonar has detected a Russian
Oscar class entering the ice pack. View the information sheet pdf below. My next painting will probably be the USS Key West (SSN-722) submerged discharging a Tomahawk missile in the Arabian Gulf. I anticipate having it completed this December or January 2017.
